Biography
SMOK is a Belgian urban artist based in Antwerp, shaking spray cans since 1986. He is known for realistic, often animal-themed murals in which his subjects emerge from swirls of smoke and trails of vivid colour.
Gorillas, big cats and other animals form a recurring bestiary, rendered with great attention to detail and a strong contrast between realism and colourful abstraction. He paints mainly in Belgium, as part of festivals and wall projects such as Viewmasters in Dendermonde and Walls of Berchem.
His work appears in public space and on commission, and he shares it online.
