Biography
OakOak is an anonymous French street artist from Saint-Étienne. Self-taught, he began his urban interventions in 2006 and became known for wittily reworking the city's everyday features - cracks, signs, gutters, shadows and road markings turned into playful, cartoon-like scenes full of humour and poetry. Made with stencils and spray paint, his pieces number in the thousands, from Saint-Étienne to Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels, New York and Shanghai. Widely shared and published, his work has made him one of the most popular figures in French street art.
